Smart Scan for Clinical Documentation

Upload patient documentation to your note instantly with Smart Scan, the latest feature from Speke AI.

Using your device’s camera, Smart Scan processes text on both paper and digital documents, parsing the new information and automatically adding it to the appropriate sections of your clinical note. There’s no limit to how many documents you can upload to a patient’s record, allowing you to easily combine disparate medical information like discharge instructions, lab results, medication lists, radiology reports, and more within one streamlined clinical documentation workflow.

How Smart Scan Works

To add more information to an existing patient note:

Tap “Add Medical Record”

Start by selecting the option to upload a medical record directly within the patient note.

Select the Record Date

Indicate whether the record is from a previous visit or the current date

Capture the Document

Select the camera to take a picture of the medical record.

Speke AI will then extract the text and add all relevant information to the clinical note, organized under the appropriate sections to help automate clinical documentation and reduce manual charting work.

As part of Speke’s ambient documentation platform, Smart Scan helps support more efficient provider workflows and streamlined healthcare documentation.

Not sure how to best leverage Smart Scan?

Take a picture when reviewing previous visit notes in the Assessment & Plan section to see where care left off. This approach is especially impactful in specialties like Oncology, where patients receive complex care over extended periods of time, or specialties like Cardiology when a patient is referred from an Emergency Department.
